Shirley Rogers

Shirley Rogers is a fully registered teacher of The Royal Academy of Dance. She started her early training with the Leinster School of Ballet in Dublin, Ireland. Whilst there she won a Scholarship from the Arts Council to further her studies in ballet and was selected for the Dublin youth ballet company. On completion of her studies with the Leinster School of Ballet, Shirley then went on to attend courses at the famous Hammond School of Dance in England, Northern Ballet School in Manchester. On returning to Ireland she was accepted into The Dublin City Ballet Company.

For two consecutive years Shirley was also Dance director at the  Performing Arts Academy in New Jersey, America,  winning the overall award as Dance Instructor.

After her dancing career, Shirley decided to open  her own Ballet Academy in Dublin,  teaching the RAD syllabus and Musical Theatre/Drama. In 1989 she opened her own Dance studio in Sunbury, specialising in the RAD syllabus and teaching all styles of Dance. She also currently teachers at Patrick Studios Australia.

The SRAD dance Academy has had a 100% success rate in R.A.D. children’s / Vocational examinations. Examination results 99% Vocational and 100% Graded Distinction rate. Many students have attained RAD awards throughout the years including the prestigious Genee International Ballet Competition 2019 - Toronto * Acheiving the Siver Medal, Audrey Nichols to Kathleen Gorham, to coming first in competitions. Shirley has been asked numerous times by the RAD examiners to become a RAD examiner as recently as this year 2019 Students from SRAD have been accepted into the Australian Ballet School, Royal Academy of Dance international Summer School London, VCASS, Ministry of Dance, Dance Factory, Space Dance & Arts Centre and Patricks studios Australia.  Shirley also has adjudicated many throughout Ireland and America. She also supports her local community throughout the year.
